Viewing of the Northern Lights

Accommpanied by one of our astronomy expects, you will view Northern lights from our hotel located on the shores of Lake Mývatn.  Each evening before dinner, our astronomy expert will provide a lecture about the aurora borealis and the sun before heading out under the dark skies to view the lights.

Lake Mývatn

With the nearby pseudocraters and more distant flat topped mountains surrounding the frozen Lake Myvatn, our base in this remote corner of Iceland is simply stunning beautiful. Walking around the village and along the lake shore with snow covered vistas is a real joy.

Optional activities

During your time at Lake Myvatn you will have the opportunity to take part in some optional activities. These include a super-jeep adventure on mountain roads and snow, snowmobiling across Lake Mývatn, cross-country skiing through the Icelandic countryside and various city sightseeing tours of the area.

Please Note

Our departures in December 2013 and early January 2014 will be accommanied by our astronomy expert Dr John Mason. The departures in late January and February 2014 will be accompanied by David Phillips.
